Fruit Fly Traps

Fruit flies are drawn to anything fermenting — overripe fruit, recycling bins, drains and compost. A single female lays up to 500 eggs in her lifetime, which means a few flies around the fruit bowl can become a persistent kitchen infestation within a week if left unchecked.

How Fruit Fly Traps Work

Each trap in the Mastertrap range uses a liquid attractant or pre-applied bait to draw fruit flies in and hold them. No sprays, no toxic chemicals and no heat — the traps work passively and are safe to use in food preparation areas. For best results, position within 30cm of the source: beside the fruit bowl, next to the bin or above a drain.

Pro Fruit Fly Trap

A reusable trap that uses a separate liquid attractant for high-volume capture. The attractant is poured into the reservoir at setup and replaced when spent. Available as a single unit or in multi-packs for kitchens with ongoing or recurring fruit fly pressure.

Flora Decorative Fruit Fly Trap

Performs identically to the Pro trap but in a printed, decorative housing designed to sit unobtrusively on a kitchen worktop. Effective fruit fly control that does not look like pest control equipment.

Pre-Baited Fruit Fly Monitoring Trap

Ready to use straight from the box — no attractant to add, no assembly required. The bait is pre-applied and activates on contact with air. The most convenient option for quick deployment or for households that want a simple, low-maintenance solution.

How Long Do Fruit Fly Traps Last?

Replace traps every two to three weeks, or sooner if the trap fills quickly. During warmer months — when fruit fly activity peaks — more frequent replacement gives better ongoing control.
