Clothes moth infestations often go unnoticed until holes appear in clothing. Monitoring traps help detect activity early by attracting and capturing male moths before breeding increases the population and leads to further damage.

These pheromone traps use a scent that mimics the natural pheromone released by female clothes moths (Tineola Bisselliella and Tinea Pellionella). Male moths detect the scent from several metres away, fly towards the source and become trapped on the adhesive surface. Capturing male moths interrupts the breeding cycle and helps reduce the number of eggs laid on natural fabrics such as wool, silk and cashmere.

This pack includes ten pheromone sticky pads and ten plastic hangers, allowing traps to be hung throughout wardrobes, cupboards and storage areas without needing to move hangers between traps. Clothes moths tend to fly upward towards light and prefer elevated surfaces when mating, so hanging traps helps place them where moth activity is most likely.

Each pad remains effective for up to three months once activated by removing the protective sheet from the adhesive surface. The plastic hangers are reusable, allowing replacement pads to be fitted when the current ones expire.

With a hanger included for every pad, traps can be hung across larger areas at the same time, making this pack suitable for wider monitoring coverage.

Useful Tip
If the protective backing strip is difficult to peel — which can occasionally happen after warm transit — place the pad in the freezer for around five minutes. This helps the backing separate cleanly. Hang at eye level or higher in areas where clothing or fabrics are stored — wardrobes, cupboards, attic spaces, under-stairs storage, or rooms with wool carpets and soft furnishings. Avoid placing near open windows, strong airflow, or direct sunlight, as these conditions can reduce pheromone effectiveness.
