Clothes moths are rarely noticed until damage appears in wool, carpets or stored clothing. By that point, activity is usually established inside wardrobes or other undisturbed areas where fabrics are left for long periods. This slim hanging clothes moth trap is designed to detect and reduce moth activity directly inside those spaces.
Each trap contains a pheromone lure that specifically attracts adult male clothes moths. Once inside, they are caught on the adhesive surface and remain trapped. By removing males from the breeding cycle, the trap helps to reduce reproduction over time while also giving a clear indication of moth activity in the area.
The trap hangs directly among clothing, placing it where moths are naturally active rather than relying on open-room placement. For best results, position it at eye level or higher inside wardrobes, cupboards or storage areas where fabrics are kept undisturbed, including attic spaces, under-stairs storage and rooms with wool carpets or soft furnishings.
Avoid placing near open windows, strong airflow or direct sunlight, as these conditions can reduce pheromone effectiveness. If the protective cover sheet is difficult to peel, which can occasionally happen after warm transit, place the pad in the freezer for around five minutes to help it separate cleanly.
Each trap remains active for up to 12 weeks and should be replaced once the adhesive surface is full or the lure has expired. While traps help reduce breeding activity, they do not eliminate existing larvae, so they are most effective when used alongside cleaning and treatment of affected items. For suspected infestations, affected items can be sealed and placed in a freezer for a minimum of 72 hours to help eliminate eggs and larvae before returning them to storage.
