Description
Pigeons and other birds need a flat surface to land or perch on. A spike strip removes that surface along the full depth it covers, so the bird can't get a foothold anywhere within range of the pins. This narrow strip is sized for ledges, sills and beams up to 7.5cm deep — anything shallower than that, and a wider strip is unnecessary; anything deeper, and birds can still land or perch beyond the spike line, so the depth match matters more than the strip looking imposing.
Common uses include window sills, narrow fence tops, pipes, railings and beam edges — anywhere the surface is too narrow to need the wider strip but still wide enough for a bird to land on. The clear polycarbonate base sits low and is difficult to see once fitted, so it doesn't change the look of the building or fence line.
The base has multiple snap points along its length, so a single 33.4cm strip can be broken down by hand to fit shorter runs without tools or extra cutting. Fix through the pre-drilled holes with screws, around pipes and railings with cable ties, or with silicone adhesive for a permanent fixing on flat surfaces — the method depends on the surface, not the spike itself.
If the ledge or sill is wider than 7.5cm, a second row fitted with a slight overlap will cover it, or the wide plastic strip covers up to 15cm in a single row.
