Description
Pigeons and other birds need a flat surface to land or perch on. A spike strip removes that surface along the full depth it covers, so the bird can't get a foothold anywhere within range of the pins. This narrow strip is sized for ledges, sills and beams up to 7.5cm deep, with stainless steel pins instead of the plastic equivalent.
The steel pins hold their position more rigidly than plastic under repeated pressure, which is worth the difference in price on ledges that see frequent or heavier bird activity, or where the strip will be exposed to more physical contact over time — gutters, parapets, signage frames and similar high-traffic spots. For lighter, occasional use, the narrow plastic strip covers the same depth at a lower price.
Pins are 304-grade stainless steel, fixed into a UV-stabilised polycarbonate base. The base has multiple snap points so a strip can be shortened by hand to fit narrower ledges without tools. Fix through the pre-drilled holes with screws, around pipes and railings with cable ties, or with silicone adhesive for a permanent fixing on flat surfaces.
If the ledge or sill is wider than 7.5cm, a second row fitted with a slight overlap will cover it.
